Enno Bolhuis

Enno Bolhuis vertaler Engels Gateway vertalingen

Enno Bolhuis was born in The Hague in 1949. He has lived and worked in Southwest England with his English wife Sue Stoughton-Harris, a Cambridge graduate and translator, since 1997.

After completing secondary school he studied biochemistry at Leiden University. To supplement his student income, he worked at a travel agency during the holidays. He finished his studies and travelled the world for a year. This proved a turning point, for Enno left biochemistry behind him and felt that his future and interest lay more in travelling and exploring the world. He visited practically all remote corners of the world, putting together travel programmes, writing, translating and editing travel brochures and related texts. One aspect of his work was conducting negotiations and concluding contracts with foreign travel organizations. In 1993 he decided to put this experience to good use as a translator. The combination Dutch to English and English to Dutch and their different educations and backgrounds are the key to Enno's and Sue's success. Enno specializes in texts requiring his extensive commercial and legal background and marketing knowledge.

In his free time he still travels and also enjoys listening to classical music.

Enno is Gateway's contact in the absence of Aart van den End, when he arranges for your translation work to be done by specialized translators and delivered to you at the agreed time.
