Kathie Andrean

Kathie Andrean was born in New York City in 1943, graduated from Florida State University with a BA in psychology and now lives and works in 's-Hertogenbosch as a translator Dutch to English.

 

She undertook a legal translation course at Stichting Instituut van Gerechtstolken en Vertalers (SIGV) and was recommended to Aart van den End when he asked one of the teachers for the 'star student'. She has been involved from the very first edition of Juridisch-Economisch Lexicon / The Legal and Economic Lexicon and came to Zeist regularly to work together with Aart on the project. They would round off a long day's work with a good meal, discussing another three pages of 'Jurlex' over coffee.

 

Kathie has over twelve years' experience as a freelance legal translator, and is the primary contributor of the Lexicon's American legal terminology.
